California Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

2017-18 Coordinator Designation Form becomes available on the California PFT Web site at http://www.pftdata.org. 2016-17 passwords are deactivated.

Final PFT student scored data file is available from the California PFT Web site secure District Portal at http://www.pftdata.org/. This file includes all data submissions and corrections made through August 31, 2018.

2017-18 PFT Coordinator Designation Forms due.

Suggested activities for January:

Conduct meetings or trainings to prepare site administrators, physical education leads, and teachers in the proper administration of the PFT to all students in grades five, seven, and nine.

Ensure data collection forms are ready and distributed to the schools.

Download and distribute resources that help to communicate about the PFT (e.g., PowerPoint, parent/guardian brochures, newsletter insert). Resources are available at http://www.cde.ca.gov/ta/tg/pf/overview.asp.

Check for updated PFT resources on the CDE PFT Program Resources Web page at http://www.cde.ca.gov/ta/tg/pf/pftresources.asp and on the California PFT Resources Web page at http://www.pftdata.org/resources.aspx.

Ensure all PFT data are received from schools in time to enter the student data, or prepare a student data file, and submit data to the state PFT contractor by the June 30, 2018 deadline.

Upload a file or enter data via the California PFT Web site secure District Portal at http://www.pftdata.org/. Review submitted data and make corrections to errors and warnings.

Schedule a debrief meeting with site administrators and physical education leads to determine areas for future improvements in the administration of the PFT.

Review PFT data and correct any errors and warnings remaining in the data by the August 31, 2018 deadline.

Download and review the preliminary PFT student scored data file that was made available on July 6, 2018. This data file is only available to Coordinators that submitted data by June 30, 2018 and does not include any corrections made after July 7, 2018.
